Fifteens Rules

Object

The object of the game is to move all the cards to the foundation pile.

Layout

• 1 deck (52 cards), no redeals
• 1 stock pile (top left) with 36 cards faced down
• 1 foundation pile (top right), initially empty
• 16 tableau piles (below the stock). Each pile contains one card.
• 1 foundation pile (right from the tableau), initially empty

Rules

Stock: When a tableau pile is emptied, it is automatically filled from the stock.

Foundation: Cards are moved to the foundation from the tableau in a way described below.

Tableau: A card from each tableau pile is available to play. There is no building on the tableau. When a tableau pile is emptied, it is automatically filled from the stock.

• Tens, Jacks, Queens and Kings are moved to the foundation together. Select all four Tens, Jacks, Queens or Kings to move them all to the foundation.
• Cards of rank 9 or lower are moved to foundation when total rank of selected cards yields 15. For example, select:
  • 8 and 7, or
  • 9 and 6, or
  • 5 and 5 and 5, or
  • A and 2 and 4 and 8, or
  • 2 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 4
  to move them to the foundation.
